There are times when a borrower needs to look back at a query raised months ago. It may be to show that a problem was reported on a certain date. Tracing that record is not so easy, since a gold loan account holds more than one kind of history.

Gold loan, for context, is a secured loan backed by gold ornaments that are pledged with the lender. This blog explains what the service request history in IIFL Loans App may contain and how it is different from a loan statement. The reading of a past ticket, and what happens when an old record cannot be found, are covered as well.

Three Kinds of Account History

The loan ledger reflects actions like disbursement, interest rate, and repayment. The payment ledger reflects the total amount of payments made via the application. A service request history, where available, records the queries raised and the replies received against them.

They all answer separate questions. A statement might give an indication of a payment having been made but not necessarily the question that has been asked. The service request history in IIFL Loans App falls in the third group and holds the conversation around an issue.

Reading a Past Request Record

People who check past service tickets in the app generally look out for the reference, the loan, the date raised, the issue, the reply and the stated outcome. Just a ticket title list does not constitute the complete picture, hence, the original problem and the answer to it are both considered.

Though service request tickets find a mention in the public guide for the app, a fixed history menu, filter or storage period is not described. The possibility of reopening every account is not mentioned either. The later follow-up on a request that has been closed will consequently refer to the first one, linking both together.

When a Past Record Is Missing

When considering how to look at past loan support requests that do not appear, a new request can be made within the app in relation to the loan and the period it occurred in. Specifying the particular response that is wanted helps narrow down the search.

Every acknowledgement and response that comes is saved for posterity, independent of any screen. These copies are stored along with all the private details of the individual, including those of his/her bank account.

Documents Required for a Gold Loan

A gold loan file generally holds the following records:

  • A photo identity proof, such as Aadhaar, passport or voter ID, for the KYC (Know Your Customer) file
  • PAN card, generally asked for under the applicable KYC and tax rules
  • Address proof, if the identity document does not carry the current address
  • A recent photograph and the bank account details for disbursal
  • The jewellery to be pledged, for weighing and the purity check

Where no PAN is held, Form 97, the declaration that replaced Form 60 in April 2026, may be considered depending on lender policy. Ownership records or a declaration may be sought under a lender's procedure. Further papers depend on the loan amount and the lender's assessment.

Eligibility and Valuation

Requirements on age, residency and ownership are taken from the regulations along with the lender's policy. A lender may review credit history as per its internal norms.

The RBI (Lending Against Gold and Silver Collateral) Directions, 2025, implemented by regulated lenders from April 2026, fix the LTV ratio in slabs. LTV (loan-to-value) is the part of the gold's value given as loan. It goes up to 85% for loans up to ₹2.5 lakh, 80% above ₹2.5 lakh up to ₹5 lakh, and 75% above ₹5 lakh.

Gold is valued at the lesser of the previous day's closing price and the 30-day average on IBJA or a SEBI-regulated exchange, adjusted for purity. Only net gold is counted. A detailed credit assessment including repayment capacity is required once total gold and silver loans go above ₹2.5 lakh. At or below this, it is not required, but lenders may apply their own checks.

Application Process

A gold loan application generally proceeds in this order.

  1. The applicant approaches a regulated lender and submits the KYC documents.
  2. The ornaments are weighed and examined for purity by the lender's valuer, with the applicant allowed to be present.
  3. The valuation certificate records the purity, gross and net weight, deductions and the value of the gold.
  4. The quantum, rate, tenure and repayment terms are shared in the sanction letter and the Key Facts Statement.
  5. The agreement is duly signed, and disbursal follows once verification and the remaining formalities are complete.

The directions provide for release of the gold within seven working days of full repayment. For any delay caused by the lender, ₹5,000 a day is paid.

IIFL Finance Support for Gold Loan Applicants

Gold loans may be offered by IIFL Finance where the product is available. Each loan is based on the borrower's eligibility, the valuation of the gold and the rules that apply at the time. The product can be suitable for borrowers who like keeping a written trail of their queries through an app. Interest and fees can vary between lenders and products owing to funding and risk factors.

Within what the regulations and lender policy permit, gold loan money can go towards genuine personal or business needs, such as:

  • Seeds and drip irrigation parts for the next crop
  • Admission charges for a postgraduate programme
  • Stock for a small grocery store
  • Eye surgery for an elderly parent

The jewellery is only held as security, so the borrower stays its owner. It comes back after the loan is repaid as agreed.

Conclusion

A gold loan account may hold a statement, a payment list and a record of service requests, and each of these answers a separate question. The service request history in IIFL Loans App, where the account offers it, is generally where queries and replies are kept. A past ticket is read by putting the original issue next to the final reply. When a record is missing, a fresh request quoting the loan and period helps in tracing it. In gold loan, money can be raised on eligible gold, and ownership of the gold stays with the borrower subject to repayment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.

How can I request past service-request records?

Ans.

Through the history facility of the account, or a fresh request in the app where a record is missing from the service request history in IIFL Loans App. Naming the loan reference, the period and the issue makes it easier to trace.

Q2.

What details are looked at in a past ticket?

Ans.

The loan, the issue, the date raised, the reference, the reply and the stated outcome. The original issue and the final reply are read side by side.

Q3.

Can a loan statement show my service-request history?

Ans.

Generally, no. Loan Statement contains details of disbursed amount, interest rate and payments, but no queries and answers.

Q4.

Does a duplicate new request help if there is no update?

Ans.

Not in most cases. A follow-up on the existing reference, stating what is still pending, keeps the history in one line.

Q5.

Can every closed request be reopened from the history view?

Ans.

Not necessarily, as the public guide does not describe a reopen control for every account. A follow-up quoting the earlier reference is placed instead.

Q6.

Does the app show a separate gold-loan query history for every account?

Ans.

Not necessarily. What appears depends on the account, and a missing record can be asked for by quoting the loan reference in a fresh request.
