Many people hesitate to write their 12-digit Aadhaar number on a loan form, as they worry about where the number may end up. UIDAI offers an option for this concern, known as the Virtual ID or VID.

This blog explains how a VID may be used when applying for an 875000 aadhaar loan against gold. It covers what the VID is, how a lender uses it and where its limits lie. The valuation rules, application steps and documents are covered after that.

The Aadhaar Virtual ID Explained

A VID is a temporary 16-digit number linked to an Aadhaar. The holder can generate it on UIDAI's website, through the mAadhaar app or by SMS.

The VID can be entered in place of the Aadhaar number for OTP-based authentication or e-KYC. The lender then receives the verified details, but not the Aadhaar number itself. When a new VID is generated, the earlier one stops working.

Whether a VID is accepted in an 875000 aadhaar loan file depends on the lender's system and its authorisation to use Aadhaar authentication. Where a VID is not supported, offline verification or a document check may be used instead.

The VID protects the number but does not change what Aadhaar proves. Someone who searches can I get 875000 loan on aadhaar card still meets the usual checks on the gold, the depth of KYC and repayment.

Eligibility and Valuation

The loan amount is linked to the gold through a few set rules. Age, residency and ownership conditions are as per the regulations and the lender's policy.

The RBI (Lending Against Gold and Silver Collateral) Directions, 2025 were implemented by regulated lenders from April 2026. Under them, loans above ₹5 lakh have a maximum LTV of 75%. LTV, or loan-to-value, is the part of the gold's value that a lender may advance.

The gold is priced at the lower of the previous day's closing rate and the 30-day average rate. Both are published by IBJA or a SEBI-regulated exchange. The price applies to net gold only, after deductions for stones and other parts. It is also adjusted for purity.

As an 875000 aadhaar loan is above ₹2.5 lakh, a detailed credit assessment that includes repayment capacity applies as well. Credit history may also be looked at under the lender's own policy, and rates and charges may differ between products and lenders.

Application Process

Where a VID is used, the sequence for an 875000 rupees aadhaar card loan generally runs as below.

  1. The borrower selects the regulated bank and fills up the form through the website or offline through any branch.
  2. The VID or the Aadhaar number is filled up, and the OTP received on the registered mobile number completes the e-KYC process.
  3. On account of the loan amount, a more extensive KYC process takes place like Video KYC or physical KYC.
  4. The ornaments are examined and weighed in front of the applicant, and the repayment ability is evaluated.
  5. The agreement is signed by the applicant, and the disbursal process begins.

On approval, the amount is credited to the bank account the borrower has given, following the lender's procedures. Under the directions, the gold is released within seven working days after the loan is closed. A delay on the lender's side carries ₹5,000 per day.

Documents Required for a Gold Loan, One by One

The common documents are taken one at a time below.

Aadhaar or VID

This is used for identity and address, through e-KYC, offline verification or a document check.

PAN Card

A PAN card is generally required for a loan of this size in accordance with applicable KYC, tax and regulatory requirements.

Income Records

Any income-related documents the lender may request, such as salary slips or bank statements, support the repayment-capacity assessment.

Bank Account Details

An account in the applicant's own name is generally used for disbursal.

The Gold Ornaments

The ornaments are the security for the loan. A lender may ask for a declaration or record of their ownership where its procedures require one. Other papers may also be sought, depending on its policy.

IIFL Finance Support for Gold Loan Applicants

IIFL Finance may provide a gold loan of ₹8.75 lakh to an eligible applicant. This is subject to product availability, the borrower's eligibility, the gold's assessment and prevailing regulatory requirements. It may be relevant to applicants who are careful about sharing personal data and who hold gold jewellery.

Within the regulations and the lender's policy, the funds can go towards legitimate personal or business needs, for instance:

  • Overseas study fees for a family member
  • Cancer care or another long treatment
  • Equipment for a clinic or salon already running
  • Festival-season stock for a shop

The gold is held as security and not sold, so the borrower generally remains its owner. It is given back after the loan is repaid as agreed.

Conclusion

The VID enables the candidate to authenticate Aadhaar without disclosing the whole number, provided that the lending platform allows the same. The VID is for identity purpose only for 875000 aadhaar loan. The pledged gold, valued on net weight and purity, and the 75% LTV slab set the upper limit. A repayment-capacity assessment also applies at this amount.

It is possible to have a gold loan without having to give up ownership of the gold as collateral. The valuing, disclosure, and storing of the gold will adhere to the appropriate policies and guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.

Can I get an ₹8,75,000 loan using only an Aadhaar card?

Ans.

Not solely with Aadhaar number. 875000 Rupees loan on aadhaar card guaranteed by gold requires PAN, a complete KYC process, and details of income also. Maximum limit is fixed on the basis of 75% LTV slab with the help of pledged gold.

Q2.

Can I get a 3 lakh loan on my Aadhaar card?

Ans.

Yes, against gold. Aadhaar or a VID can support the KYC, and the loan falls in the 80% LTV slab. A repayment-capacity assessment applies above ₹2.5 lakh.

Q3.

How much gold loan for 70,000 salary?

Ans.

There is no salary formula in the gold loan rules, as the amount starts from the gold's value and the LTV slab. Salary comes in through the repayment-capacity assessment above ₹2.5 lakh. So an 875000 aadhar loan on this salary depends on the gold's value first and the repayment fit second.

Q4.

Can I get a gold loan of ₹200,000 in India?

Ans.

Yes, subject to lender policy. The loan for gold amounting to ₹2,00,000 will fall under the 85% LTV bracket. There is no requirement of credit analysis for loans up to ₹2.5 lakh.

Q5.

How much loan for 40,000 salary?

Ans.

It is mostly dependent on the gold, rather than the salary. When it comes to the mortgage that is guaranteed by the gold, then it is dependent on the value of the gold and the LTV slab.
