After marriage, many women move to their spouse's home while their Aadhaar still shows the parents' address. The jewellery they plan to pledge is their own, but the address on record is out of date. This gap can come up during a gold loan application.

A gold loan is a loan given against gold ornaments, which the lender holds until repayment. This blog explains a ₹95,000 aadhaar loan for a borrower who has recently moved to a spouse's home. This includes the part on Aadhaar, credit check, and update of Aadhaar address. This is followed by the documents, valuation, and application process.

Aadhaar's Role in a ₹95,000 Gold Loan

Verification of the individual's identification and address takes place in the course of the Know Your Customer verification process using Aadhaar. Verification of the Aadhaar can take place by OTP, QR Code scan, or in-person verification. As the amount involved is above ₹60,000, a fuller KYC check generally applies.

The Credit Check for This Amount

Gold loans follow the RBI (Lending Against Gold and Silver Collateral) Directions, 2025, implemented by regulated lenders from April 2026. These directions set no minimum credit score. The lender may still review credit history in terms of its own policy.

Up to ₹2.5 lakh of total gold and silver loans, the directions do not require income proof or a detailed credit assessment. A ₹95,000 aadhaar loan lies well within that band. A homemaker without income papers may therefore still apply, subject to lender policy.

PAN is generally requested during KYC at this amount. Where PAN is not available, other documentation may be considered by the lender.

Updating the Aadhaar Address After Moving

An old address on Aadhaar does not by itself stop the identity check. The name and photograph still match the borrower. It may, however, mean that the lender asks for proof of the current address.

The Head of Family Route

UIDAI lets a resident update the Aadhaar address online with the consent of the head of family, such as a spouse. A relationship document, like a marriage certificate, links the two. The head of family then approves the request through UIDAI. If the request is not approved within the set time, it is closed and a fresh one can be raised.

Updating With One's Own Documents

Some borrowers hold a valid address proof in their own name. The update can then be made online or at an Aadhaar centre without the family route.

Address Proof for the Loan in the Meantime

Until the update is complete, a lender may accept another valid document for the current address, as its KYC process allows. A person asking can I get ₹95,000 loan on aadhaar card soon after moving may complete KYC this way.

Documents Required for a ₹95,000 Gold Loan

For a ₹95,000 loan on aadhaar card against gold, the papers commonly include the following.

  • Aadhaar, or another officially valid document showing the current address
  • PAN, generally requested during KYC, with other documentation considered where it is not available
  • A recent photograph
  • Bank account details in the borrower's own name
  • The gold ornaments

The lender may ask how the jewellery was acquired, for example as a wedding gift, and may accept a declaration. Further papers depend on the lender's policy and the assessment.

Eligibility and Valuation

Age, residency and ownership conditions are set by the applicable rules and the lender's policy. Up to 1 kg of gold ornaments and 50 grams of bank-issued coins may be pledged by one borrower.

LTV, the loan-to-value ratio, is the share of the gold's value that may be lent. Up to ₹2.5 lakh, it is 85%, so a ₹95,000 aadhaar card loan uses the top slab.

The gold is valued at the lower of the previous day's close and the 30-day average for its purity. These come from IBJA or a SEBI-regulated exchange. Only the net gold content is counted, and stones, lac and other non-gold parts are left out.

The interest rate and charges are decided by the lender and can differ from one product to another.

Application Process

  1. The applicant approaches a regulated lender at a branch or online.
  2. KYC is completed with Aadhaar, and the current address is recorded with a supporting document if needed.
  3. The jewellery is tested and weighed with the applicant present.
  4. The lender shares the amount, rate, tenure and charges in writing.
  5. The agreement is signed, and disbursal follows once verification and the remaining formalities are complete.

An approved amount is credited to the borrower's own bank account, following the lender's procedures. After full repayment, the gold is generally released within seven working days. A delay caused by the lender attracts ₹5,000 a day under the directions.

IIFL Finance Support for Gold Loan Applicants

IIFL Finance may offer a gold loan of ₹95,000. This would depend on whether the product is available, whether the borrower is eligible, how the gold is assessed and the regulations in force. The current address may be recorded with a supporting document, and the amount, rate and charges are shared in writing.

In line with lender policy and the rules, the loan money can be used for legitimate needs such as:

  • Setting up a home-based tiffin service
  • Fees for a skill course
  • Medical care during pregnancy
  • Household appliances after a move

Since the jewellery is pledged and not sold, it generally stays in the borrower's ownership, subject to repayment as agreed.

Conclusion

Moving homes after marriage often leaves an old address on Aadhaar. UIDAI's head of family route lets the address be updated with a spouse's consent and a relationship document. Until then, a lender may accept another proof of the current address. At ₹95,000, the 85% slab applies, and the directions do not require income proof. A ₹95,000 aadhaar loan may therefore be within reach for a borrower who owns eligible gold, subject to the lender's checks.

A gold loan of this kind can provide funds against eligible gold, while the jewellery remains the borrower's property. Valuation, disclosures and custody are dealt with as per the applicable policies and regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.

How much loan can I get from my Aadhaar card?

Ans.

Aadhaar does not set any amount. For a ₹95,000 aadhaar loan, the gold's net value and the 85% slab decide the upper limit.

Q2.

Can I apply for a ₹50,000 Aadhaar card loan online?

Ans.

Yes, an online start is generally possible. The gold is still tested in person, and the 85% slab applies. An OTP-based check may be enough at this amount.

Q3.

How to get loan of ₹1,00,000 from Aadhaar card?

Ans.

Through a gold loan, with Aadhaar for KYC and the ornaments as security. The 85% slab applies. The directions do not require income proof at this level.

Q4.

Can I get a ₹95,000 gold loan without a PAN card?

Ans.

It may be possible. PAN is generally requested during KYC for a ₹95,000 aadhar loan against gold. Where PAN is not available, a Form 97 declaration may be considered, depending on lender policy.
